I have thinkpad T400 type 2765 94u I lost Harddrive installed new one, Looking for recovery media for T400. On lenovo site there are some part numbers for recovery DVDs but I dont remember old OS.
Have a IBM ThinkPad T40 with CD and 30gb hd (NTFS) running WXP. My boss had another T40 that went swimming in serious rain while turned on. His is now permanently turned OFF. He took the 40gb hd out of his and put it in mine. Worked fine to get all important info off of drive. As he was sending Outlook email, my T40 crashed and died. Replaced the original 30gb HD and my T40 still will not start anymore. Was able to run IBMs PC Doctor and check out the system. Did a quick check and then a HD scan and a final HD surface scan. All reports say NO ERRORS. The laptop tries to start. The IBM flash screen comes up, then goes away, then sometimes a line that says: to start the IBM product recovery program press F11. appears and sometimes the cursor does nothing but blink. If the F11 statement comes up, the cursor goes down one line and the cursor just blinks. Finally after some 20 tries was able to get a response from pressing F11. Got a non-system disk error. And it will not repeat it again. ?? Took the 30 gb HD a few minutes ago and stuck it in a Ext USB case, plugged it into a NTFS tower and copied all the files off it so it does appear to be working in that respect.Ibm Thinkpad T40 Specs
